You should stop separately your feelings from what your happiness consists of. Especially if your feelings come from past influences, yes these things hurt but the situation is not the same anymore, time to update your feelings. Imagine if a caterpillar got into an argument with a bird and they hated each other, a few weeks later the bird sees the caterpillar again but all of a sudden he’s now a butterfly, does the old argument have any relevance? the butterfly has been so busy transforming that hes not had time to worry about the argument or hold onto the feelings from it.
Continue to love regardless of how actions have made you feel in the past, should it influence your decision?
